MAC BRIDAL CLASS @ FASHION VALLEY MALL 11/15/09

I NEED TO SAY WOW!!!  TALK ABOUT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO HONE MY SKILLS AS A MAKEUP ARTIST!  IT WAS SO GREAT TO BE AT THIS CLASS AND HEAR FROM JOHN STAPLETON (SENIOR ARTIST FOR MAC) ABOUT THE TIPS AND TRICKS HE USES TO CREATE THE PERFECT BRIDE.  I WAS SO INTO THE CLASS, AND LEARNED SO MANY NEW WAYS TO CREATE A LOOK THAT IS PERFECT FOR A WEDDING DAY!  I WILL DEFINITELY BE TAKING MORE!  THE BEST PART ABOUT IT???  THE CLASS WAS 100 DOLLARS (FULLY REDEEMABLE IN PRODUCT).  HOW GREAT IS THAT?  YOU FIGURE, YOU WOULD EASILY SPEND THAT MUCH THERE ANYWAY... IMAGINE BEING ABLE TO GET A 2 HOUR COURSE ON BRIDAL MAKEUP WITH THAT PURCHASE!  IF YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN A COURSE, MAKE SURE YOU LOOK INTO IT... IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Photorealism Quad Palette by MAC

I love my new palette!  It is a limited edition quad e/s palette.
It has the best greens; they almost have a grey tone to them.
I hope they will add these colors to the eyeshadow selection at MAC.
From left to right, top to bottom: photo realism, fresh approach,
image maker, grey range.

Eyes: To start I used Lemon Aid by Benefit all over lid as a base.  I then applied lightest color (photo realism) to brow bone
and inner 3rd of eyelid
Next I took fresh approach and placed it in the center of eyelid
Then I applied image maker above my crease
I then took grey scale and placed it in my crease and outer v
I also lined my waterline and lined the top and bottom of the eye with
grey scale
I then took a little of the lightest shade and BLENDED
around the perimeter of the colors to get rid of any sharp edges!

Brows: Brow Zings by Benefit (powder/wax) in dark

Face: You Rebel tinted moisturizer by Benefit (light) all over my face
I then used 10 by Benefit (bronzer/highlighter) on my cheeks focusing
on the cheek bone, forehead, nose, and chin

Cheeks: Coralista by Benefit (Love this color!  The Coral is
beautiful)

Lips: Any peachy pink lip gloss will work.

XOXO,

Halloween 2009

Halloween just passed.  I was a zombie.. A SeXy ZomBie... My title was "DeaD SeXy".. Clever, huh?  LOL..  Anyway.. I put some pictures up and I will go through step by step and explain the look.

Step 1.  Start with a clean face. Primer (That Gal by Benefit is nice)  Use a white face powder, or cream stick.  Cover face.  Set with a loose powder very lightly.

Step 2. Using Carbon (e/s) by Mac create a smokey eye from lashline to crease, also smoke under the eye, giving a dark charcoal effect.  Apply black mascara.  Above the crease and into and above the brow, use a red or pink eyeshadow.  I used a dark pink from Christian Dior.  BLEND BLEND BLEND Also, apply it under the eye down to the cheeks.  BLEND BLEND BLEND

Step 3. Use Carbon (e/s) to create definition under cheek bone (BLEND WELL) Take it and also add contouring to nose and up in forehead area, creating a dead, emaciated effect.

Step 4. Take a liquid liner and apply squiggly lines coming out of the sides of the forehead onto the face.  Add those lines wherever you want for added drama.

Step 5.  Use Mac's prep and prime for lips and then apply the white, blending into the skin.  Use a dark liner and line the lips and blend the color out.

You are now ready to go!  Have fun!

XOXO,

Here I Am...

So... here it goes... I decided to create a blog. I never thought I would, but here I am! LOL... Anyway, I am a freelance makeup artist; the majority of my posts will probably be makeup tutorials as soon as I get a web cam! ;) I will also post my faves and not so faves of the cosmetic world... I was inspired to do this when I first saw Marlena on Makeupgeek.com. So bear with me as I venture into the "blogspot" world... I hope I keep everyone entertained.

Love,
Lo Lo
