A Conversation Piece...

I was on my break at work a few weeks ago, grabbing my daily coffee at Better Buzz and when I was walking back to work, I noticed a necklace in Something Silver that totally caught my attention.  I went in to check it out.  It was beautiful!  I thought to myself how original this piece was and how gorgeous it would be with my Urban Decay eyeliner in COVET!  LOL... Anyway, I put the necklace and matching earrings on hold, and thought about it for a day.  I went back and bought them two days later and I don't regret that decision one bit.  I wore them to work today and literally every 3rd person who passed by had a compliment for me and asked where I bought them.  The earrings were 23 bux and the necklace was 25 bux.  Great prices, but since I am a mall employee I got a discount on them!  So I ended up spending around 40 bux for the 2 pieces... I am so in love!  Let me know what you think!

I May Be Pretty... But, I Can Kick Your BUTT!

Hey!  I got COMBAT BOOTS.  I have been wanting a pair for awhile now, and in all honesty I REALLY want some DR. MARTINS.  They are a bit outta my price range right now.  I remember my brother used to rock those on the daily with his long shorts and tees and flannel shirts.  It was the Kurt Cobain era for sure!  GRUNGE was the thing.  I was too young to really get into it and my mom would have had a heart attack.  LOL.. I was in my "wigger" phase.  That's what they called it.  Yea, I thought I was black; who woulda thought???  LOL  I used to wear baggy jeans, long flannels with big tees or tight ones (I'm laughing as I'm writing this) and my Champion sneakers or Filas.  OMG... And I had the most intense 90's brownish orange lipstick and liner that you could find at any Longs!  ;)
So lately, I have been seeing the boots come back around and I'm thinkin', "It's my time to wear what I always wanted to!"  I kinda want to rock 'em with a big flouncy toile skirt and be Betsey Johnson in COMBAT!  I was at Ross the other day browsin' through the shoes, and I saw the boots.  They are Rampage and were 49.99 and I got them on clearance for 15.99.  SCORRRRRRRREEEEE... Here's my pics.. Enjoy!

Christian Dior.. Let Me Upgrade Ya!

Gold is where it's at... I just got a bottle of Christian Dior's nail polish in Timeless Gold.  I LOVE it!  Talk about a perfect way to rock some bling for the holidays!  I put one coat on and it looked pretty decent!  I was very impressed!  I applied a 2nd coat out of habit, but it wasn't necessary.  I also put some on my daughter; she wanted mama's nails.  The nail polish is $21.00 and I definitely think it's worth the price. I recommend it to every woman who wants to shine! ;)

Happy Holidays,

"Half"rican Hair...

My daughter is black and white.  She has amazing hair... SUPER curly!  However, it is very hard to manage.  I invested in some products that make it much easier to work with and keep it soft and manageable!  I had heard about Mixed Chicks through a friend when Gabi was just a baby.  I gave them a try a few months back and am very pleased.  I started out using the Leave In Conditioner and the Hair Silk, which is a serum to use on wet or dry hair to keep it smooth and shiny.  I went back last week to replenish and the guy recommended I try Remi Leave In Conditioner.  He said it works as well, if not better, than Mixed Chicks, and it is a thinner texture.  It's also cheaper, which is a plus.  I guess, the competition for bi-racial hair is growing pretty rapidly.  I bought a bottle of that and also invested in the Deep Conditioner by Mixed Chicks.  Our first time using the products was a success!  In the bath I used the Deep Conditioner and rinsed it out.  The smell is amazing!  After I towel dried her hair, I put the Remi in.  I noticed a difference right away, that I didn't notice with the Mixed Chicks Leave In...   Then we finished with the serum.  Gabi completes every "hair session" by patting her head and saying, "cute hair, mama?"  Of course I always reply, "yes, baby, CUTE HAIR!"

NFL PINK by Victoria's Secret!

Okay, so the only piece of NFL clothing I had ever owned, was a Shawn Merriman jersey.  Needless to say, I don't need to rock that anymore.  I came to the conclusion when the gay pink jerseys with glitter and sparkle came out, that I needed some new Charger gear, but I WASN'T about to wear these cheap lookin' jerseys for women.  That's when I noticed NFL PINK at Victorias Secret.  They rep about ten teams or so from the NFL.  They have the cutest Charger gear!  I figure, if your gonna spend a grip on the gear at the Charger store, you might as well spend the same price or less at Vicky's and have it be SUPER cute!  So, I did.  I don't think I am quite done adding to my collection yet, but here are some pics of the SWAG I SNAGGED so far:                                                Tee
                                                                Sweat Pants
                                                                  Pullover Hoodie (My fave)

As you can see, this stuff is to die for!  The prices are reasonable, some being more expensive than others.  Look to spend between 29 and 60 bux for pieces from the collection.

CHARLOTTE RUSSE vs CREATIVE RECREATION

I was in Charlotte Russe the other day looking for boots.  I wish I had the budget at this time to spend more than 40 bux on a pair, but right now... I just need BOOTS!  I was wearing sandals on a rainy day last week... Non acceptable.  So, I went in, and they had a great sale: Buy one pair, get one pair for 10 bux.  I grabbed a cute pair of short ankle boots, but what I was really excited about were the sneakers I found.  I have high top Vans, that I love, but kill my feet because they are so narrow.  I can't even wear them to work just standing there!  So I found these, and I feel that they resemble Creative Recreations!  Hey, for ten bux???  I don't need a label!  They had them in silver, gold, and black.  I got the black, cause I need practical for work... You best believe I am goin back to snag the other colors as well!  I'm stoked!

A Tartan Tale.. MAC's 2010 Holiday Collection

Okay, I am excited to use my new shadows from this line!  I was drawn in by this intense event MAC was having at Fashion Valley last weekend.  They had models that were dancing and performing like crazy!  The whole look of the collection is inspired by Kilts and Celtic culture.  I LOVE PLAID!  So... I bought three shadows (blue, green, and tan) and a nail polish that reminds me of one of my favorite nail polishes by OPI, You Don't Know Jaques, but this MAC polish has gold sparkle in it!  OMG... I HEART IT!  I hope the pictures do this collection justice, but if not, go check it out ASAP at your local MAC store!

XOXO,
