The Royal Fairytale... Every Lil' Girl's Dream!

My mom and I were out and about today, and we went by Parkway Plaza.  As were walking by,  this store, The Royal Fairytale, caught my eye!  It also caught Gabi's eye!  It was filled with tutus, glamour, and glitz, and it is all geared toward little girls!  I seriously thought I was gonna die in this place.  There is a "stuffie station" (just like Build A Bear) that has all different animals and outfits to choose from.  You pay 19.95 for the animal of your choice to be stuffed.  There is a station to let your little ones make their own lotions, lipglosses, and bath bubbles, with tons of sparkle in it!  I want to go back and make my own self some gear!  LOL... Anyway, this place offers 2 hour tea parties, birthday parties, and pajama parties wear the kids can dress like princesses and have tea, or wear comfy robes and get manis, pedis, and facial masks!  You pay 20 bux and can drop your child off at one of the scheduled tea parties, or put down a deposit and pick the party of your choice for your daughter and 7 of her girlfriends!  I can't wait for Gabi to get a little older so we can have a bling bling party for her!  Go check it out today!  Shout out to Tami, the owner, for creating this charming establishment!

What I Want For Christmas...

Everyone has been asking what I want for Christmas.  I hadn't really thought about it this year, so I really didn't know what I wanted.  So I am just putting up 4 items that I love.  Okay, so here they are.. I think I will probably only get 1 out of the 4 I post...

1) Viva La Juicy perfume

2) Pure By Donna Karen

       Michael Kors Hobo 498.00

Christian Louboutin Fleece Booties 595.00

So, as you can see I am probably not going to get the last two items on my short beginner's list... A girl can DREAM though, right??? ;)

A Conversation Piece...

I was on my break at work a few weeks ago, grabbing my daily coffee at Better Buzz and when I was walking back to work, I noticed a necklace in Something Silver that totally caught my attention.  I went in to check it out.  It was beautiful!  I thought to myself how original this piece was and how gorgeous it would be with my Urban Decay eyeliner in COVET!  LOL... Anyway, I put the necklace and matching earrings on hold, and thought about it for a day.  I went back and bought them two days later and I don't regret that decision one bit.  I wore them to work today and literally every 3rd person who passed by had a compliment for me and asked where I bought them.  The earrings were 23 bux and the necklace was 25 bux.  Great prices, but since I am a mall employee I got a discount on them!  So I ended up spending around 40 bux for the 2 pieces... I am so in love!  Let me know what you think!

I May Be Pretty... But, I Can Kick Your BUTT!

Hey!  I got COMBAT BOOTS.  I have been wanting a pair for awhile now, and in all honesty I REALLY want some DR. MARTINS.  They are a bit outta my price range right now.  I remember my brother used to rock those on the daily with his long shorts and tees and flannel shirts.  It was the Kurt Cobain era for sure!  GRUNGE was the thing.  I was too young to really get into it and my mom would have had a heart attack.  LOL.. I was in my "wigger" phase.  That's what they called it.  Yea, I thought I was black; who woulda thought???  LOL  I used to wear baggy jeans, long flannels with big tees or tight ones (I'm laughing as I'm writing this) and my Champion sneakers or Filas.  OMG... And I had the most intense 90's brownish orange lipstick and liner that you could find at any Longs!  ;)
So lately, I have been seeing the boots come back around and I'm thinkin', "It's my time to wear what I always wanted to!"  I kinda want to rock 'em with a big flouncy toile skirt and be Betsey Johnson in COMBAT!  I was at Ross the other day browsin' through the shoes, and I saw the boots.  They are Rampage and were 49.99 and I got them on clearance for 15.99.  SCORRRRRRRREEEEE... Here's my pics.. Enjoy!

Christian Dior.. Let Me Upgrade Ya!

Gold is where it's at... I just got a bottle of Christian Dior's nail polish in Timeless Gold.  I LOVE it!  Talk about a perfect way to rock some bling for the holidays!  I put one coat on and it looked pretty decent!  I was very impressed!  I applied a 2nd coat out of habit, but it wasn't necessary.  I also put some on my daughter; she wanted mama's nails.  The nail polish is $21.00 and I definitely think it's worth the price. I recommend it to every woman who wants to shine! ;)

Happy Holidays,

"Half"rican Hair...

My daughter is black and white.  She has amazing hair... SUPER curly!  However, it is very hard to manage.  I invested in some products that make it much easier to work with and keep it soft and manageable!  I had heard about Mixed Chicks through a friend when Gabi was just a baby.  I gave them a try a few months back and am very pleased.  I started out using the Leave In Conditioner and the Hair Silk, which is a serum to use on wet or dry hair to keep it smooth and shiny.  I went back last week to replenish and the guy recommended I try Remi Leave In Conditioner.  He said it works as well, if not better, than Mixed Chicks, and it is a thinner texture.  It's also cheaper, which is a plus.  I guess, the competition for bi-racial hair is growing pretty rapidly.  I bought a bottle of that and also invested in the Deep Conditioner by Mixed Chicks.  Our first time using the products was a success!  In the bath I used the Deep Conditioner and rinsed it out.  The smell is amazing!  After I towel dried her hair, I put the Remi in.  I noticed a difference right away, that I didn't notice with the Mixed Chicks Leave In...   Then we finished with the serum.  Gabi completes every "hair session" by patting her head and saying, "cute hair, mama?"  Of course I always reply, "yes, baby, CUTE HAIR!"

NFL PINK by Victoria's Secret!

Okay, so the only piece of NFL clothing I had ever owned, was a Shawn Merriman jersey.  Needless to say, I don't need to rock that anymore.  I came to the conclusion when the gay pink jerseys with glitter and sparkle came out, that I needed some new Charger gear, but I WASN'T about to wear these cheap lookin' jerseys for women.  That's when I noticed NFL PINK at Victorias Secret.  They rep about ten teams or so from the NFL.  They have the cutest Charger gear!  I figure, if your gonna spend a grip on the gear at the Charger store, you might as well spend the same price or less at Vicky's and have it be SUPER cute!  So, I did.  I don't think I am quite done adding to my collection yet, but here are some pics of the SWAG I SNAGGED so far:                                                Tee
                                                                Sweat Pants
                                                                  Pullover Hoodie (My fave)

As you can see, this stuff is to die for!  The prices are reasonable, some being more expensive than others.  Look to spend between 29 and 60 bux for pieces from the collection.

CHARLOTTE RUSSE vs CREATIVE RECREATION

I was in Charlotte Russe the other day looking for boots.  I wish I had the budget at this time to spend more than 40 bux on a pair, but right now... I just need BOOTS!  I was wearing sandals on a rainy day last week... Non acceptable.  So, I went in, and they had a great sale: Buy one pair, get one pair for 10 bux.  I grabbed a cute pair of short ankle boots, but what I was really excited about were the sneakers I found.  I have high top Vans, that I love, but kill my feet because they are so narrow.  I can't even wear them to work just standing there!  So I found these, and I feel that they resemble Creative Recreations!  Hey, for ten bux???  I don't need a label!  They had them in silver, gold, and black.  I got the black, cause I need practical for work... You best believe I am goin back to snag the other colors as well!  I'm stoked!

A Tartan Tale.. MAC's 2010 Holiday Collection

Okay, I am excited to use my new shadows from this line!  I was drawn in by this intense event MAC was having at Fashion Valley last weekend.  They had models that were dancing and performing like crazy!  The whole look of the collection is inspired by Kilts and Celtic culture.  I LOVE PLAID!  So... I bought three shadows (blue, green, and tan) and a nail polish that reminds me of one of my favorite nail polishes by OPI, You Don't Know Jaques, but this MAC polish has gold sparkle in it!  OMG... I HEART IT!  I hope the pictures do this collection justice, but if not, go check it out ASAP at your local MAC store!

Dream Angels Demi

Okay!  So... I needed new bras in the WORST way, but kept putting it off.  I decided to bite the bullet and just go charge some on my VS account, that has been paid off for about 3 years now.  It was the best decision I have made in awhile.  Usually a typical bra fitting session sucks for me... I never like how I look in the mirrors and I always feel fat!  Anyway, yesterday was different, I grabbed about 4 different styles but IMMEDIATELY fell IN LOVE with the Dream Angels Demi... OMG... It holds these girls UP and separates and doesn't make me squish out of the top!  No quad boobies here!   I bought it in black, white, and slate blue...  Soooooo excited to wear it and feel good about myself again!  I seriously wanted to cry when I was looking in the mirror!  I haven't felt that sexy, slim, and beautiful in a long time!  I won't deprive myself of the nice things anymore...  Truth is... I AM WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Lo Lo Was STARSTRUCK!

Yesterday we were having an event at work to promote our new Book Of Shadows Vol. 3 (UD *heart* NYC). We all dressed up in ol' skool 90's hip hop wear. I wore my RUN DMC shirt and GUESS WHAT????? I was standing in front of my counter, waiting to pull my next client, and REVEREND RUN from RUN DMC was approaching with one of his associates! I was in SHOCK! How freakin' random that I wore that shirt the day he strolls through MACYS! So I looked at him and said, "Oh my God, HI!" He goes, "How ya' doin?" I repeated myself, "OMG, Hi!".. He looked at me, saw my shirt, and showed his boy. His boy goes, "Give her the shoes, dog." I was like, "What?" They handed me an Adidas shoebox. Inside were a pair of men's size 11 Shell Toes... Signed, "God Bless!!! Rev Run" They had been worn! Now if I'm putting 2 and 2 together correctly, I'm thinkin' those were a pair of his shoes, and he was waiting to find the perfect person to give them to. I looked up, and said, "4 real???" He goes, "yup, you deserve the shoes". I said, "Can I have a hug?" LOL... He gave me one. Now, all of this happened while he was walking by, so it went very fast and I didn't have time, or HE didn't have time to stop for a picture with me. But, my coworkers handled getting pictures after I got the shoes. I don't think my smile could have been ANY LARGER!  LOL Let's just say that yesterday was truly one of the highlights of this girl's life! Now to find a display unit for these KICKS!

Holiday Time @ Urban Decay!

It's my favorite time of year!  Not only for the amazing food, cold weather, and quality family time, but for all the great items that makeup lines throw at you!  LOL... I was totally stoked on the Urban Decay Book Of Shadows III (UD *heart* NYC).  I am a total hip hop listenin', big hoop/door knocker earring wearing, sneaker rockin' lady who happens to LOVE New York, AND makeup more than anything!  What could be better than putting the two together in an amazing palette???  This dang palette features a pop up of the city/people in front of a LIT background!  Yes, the freakin' thing LIGHTS UP when opened.  It has a drawer underneath that holds 16 eyeshadow colors ranging from fierce shades to more neutrals, 2 eyeliners, and a mini UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion)  54 bux plus tax!  I copped mine today!  Get your's!  Peep the pics!

AND THEEEEEEENNNNNNN......

I took a stroll over to Sephora on my lunch break, just to see what THEY had that WE didn't.  I KNEW they were getting a particular palette for holiday that we weren't... BUT... I had no idea they had it already!  So, what's a girl to do???  I bought it.  Did I mention MAKEUP IS MY OBSESSION?  So... This palette is called The Black Palette.  When I first saw it, I was thinkin' major Kat Von D status.  I love her, so it all worked out.  LOL... This palette is a little more simple.  It showcases dark, smokey shades from black to green to purple.  There are 6 shades and I love them all!  This one also comes with the UDPP, only in EDEN.  Eden is the opaque yellow version of our eye primer.  I dig it, and I simply adore this palette! 36 bux plus tax and you can walk out the door with a smile on yo' face! PICTURES BELOW... ;)

Can't wait to start rockin' my palettes!  Looks soon to come!

Then & Now... A Rise To Greatness!

So, I know there are many local artists out there doing their thang... But I want to make mention one group, that I have seen grow from the very beginning.  Black Cotton came about a few years back, I would say about 4 to 5 years ago.  Let's see, I am 28 years old now, and I first met Nardo (Shad) when I was 21... Long time!  From there I met Jimbo Slice (James) and a year or two later on one of our annual Rosarito weekends, I had the pleasure of meeting MarreL (Marlon)... Soon there after I met the infamous Trey!  He moved back from Jacksonville and it seemed like BC really got a dose of what they needed to finally get this going.  I actually have a demo of when they first started... They would kill me if I let it loose, so don't ask to hear it!  LOL...  I have had the pleasure of sitting in on a recording session in the basement of Nardo's house and really get to see the passion behind the music, first hand.  At first I was thinking, "Oh this is a cool hobby for these guys"... But, I was wrong... It's much more than a hobby, it's their life!  Their sound to ME, I would say is a mix of PM Dawn, cause it's so nice to just chill to... With a twist of Slum Village... for Cruisin' in your ride.
Nardo, I would have to say is the confident, but sweet teddy bear.  Jimbo is the sensible, business minded, comedian.  MarreL is just straight smooth.  Trey Peezy, is a hustla and a gentleman.  I had the opportunity to work a bit as their makeup artist on their last video shoot, "Something About It" on their new "Keys To The Suite" album, and I had a great time... I told them next time I want to be in the video, not behind the scenes!  ;)
Take time to peep their blog, http://itsallbc.blogspot.com/, and hit 'em up on Facebook!  I love my boys to death and am excited to be apart of their lives and this amazing journey!

MAC VENOMOUS VILLAINS!

Okay, so I got quite a few items from the MAC Venomous Villains collection.  My favorite collection after seeing it in person is STILL Maleficent.  I loved her mineralized eyeshadows!  I got the blue/green one called, She Who Dares; I love it!  The picture doesn't do it justice at all, though.  It is loaded with blue and green SHIMMER up the yin yang!  The only two items I have used from my purchase, so far is that shadow, and the lip gellee called Resort Life from the Princess and The Frog Villain... DON'T ask me to spell his name.... LOL... Anyway, I love the line.  People have been complaining about the actual look of the product, saying it looks cheap, but I don't think it does.  They are still shots from the movies put on the product!  I do however LOVE the boxes for the line.  They have sketches of the character on them, and they look so chic!  I will put up more pics from what I bought when I do the look!  I'm so excited to share with you!

OMG!

SO EXCITED!  I just got an email from MAC PRO updating me about the new Venomous Villians collection!  It's a collection inspired by a few of the Disney villians that we all ADORE!  LOL... My fave collection just from viewing online is the Maleficent collection!  I will definitely be checking this out at MAC asap!  I will give you a review on the products if I end up purchasing!  I am a huge Disney fanatic and I think a line inspired from this is the best idea!  Now, they just need a Disney Princess collection!  I would be all over that!

My New Favorite Accessory...

So, I am totally diggin' the single feather earrings that are poppin' up all over.  I love how they can be an outstanding piece all alone or paired with something else to make the best accessory to your already adorable outfit!  I just got mine from ARROW JEWELRY on Etsy.  I am so happy with it, and I am so excited to wear it often!  I am already thinking of ways I will rock my makeup to coordinate with this amazing piece.  How affordable is it???  Some are more expensive than others; mine was 30 bux.  It came to 33.00 with shipping.  I feel that this purchase was worth every penny!  ;)

GLITTER TOES A.K.A. ROCKSTAR TOES!

Seriously this is my new favorite way to rock my pedicure!  I had heard about Glitter Toes awhile ago through a friend of mine, but never really knew exactly what they were.  About two weeks ago, another friend of mine had shown me her fabulous feet; she had Glitter Toes.  Here's the idea behind it... They last about 5 to 7 weeks because no polish is used.  It's literally gel (like what is used for acrylic nails) and GLITTER... Lots and lots of glitter!  So, they put a layer of gel on and sprinkle with glitter.  Then your toes are put under the UV light.  Another layer of gel is added with more glitter, and under the light you go again... Then one last layer of gel and glitter... It's like arts and crafts; I love it!  After the final coat is on, they clean it up and rub it down, and VOILA... You're DONE!  It's so much fun, and you can pick any color under the sun!  I had mine custom made to coordinate with my favorite OPI polish at the time, OPI INK.  We used 4 glitters to get the best blend of color!  So, for anywhere between 25 to 40 bux, you can rock these toes!  Mine were $30.00.  Just be willing to have the same color for over a month, because that's how long they last!

APRIORI BEAUTY

I became a consultant for this brand new skin care line about 1 month ago.  I must say, I am so glad I did!  I love this product and am so excited to share with everyone!  I have noticed a change in my skin.  It's so soft now, and it feels moisturized and healthy!  I have always had dry skin and after I would cleanse, it felt stripped of it's natural oils and it was always so tight!  Not anymore... The cleanser, enzyme micro scrub, and the night cream are my favorite products!  I can't express how amazing they are, and how this line has completely made me want to change the way I eat, and has forced me to EXERCISE!  Anyone who knows me, knows I would rather sit on the sofa and eat chips and guacomole!  But, I recently was hit with the brilliant idea that having great skin should be accompanied with having a great diet and  healthy exercise routine!  My face can't be the ONLY part of me that's fabulous!  If anyone reading this wants this same feeling, that I am experiencing right now, please check out my site and order directly through me!  You will love it! http://aprioribeauty.com/IC/facesbylolo.
